| Kahaluu
Beach Park is a popular attraction due to it's convenient location
in the town of Kailua-Kona close to many hotels and local
residences. This beach definitely isn't the most picturesque on the island with just a few dark gray sandy patches surrounded by some boulders and a rock wall. The real attraction at Kahaluu Beach Park is the shallow and calm waters that are filled with a vast variety of colorful sea life. Novice snorkelers should feel right at home at Kahalu'u (sometimes called "Snorkel Beach"), but avoid entering the water during rough surf or if dangerous rip currents are present. | Some of the features of Kahaluu Beach Park include showers, restrooms, a concession stand, snorkeling gear rentals, lifeguards on duty, phones, and picnic tables. Parking can be limited, especially on weekends, so plan on arriving early. | ||
