This automotive
maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the second
generation 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and probably also the refreshed 2019,
2020, 2021 and 2022 model years of the Ford Edge SUV in changing a burnt out
low beam or high beam light bulb located in the headlight housing. Owners of other Ford and Lincoln vehicles such as the Escape, Expedition, EcoSport, Flex, Explorer, Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, Mustang, Taurus, Ranger, Transit Connect, F-150, Endura, C-Max, Kuga, Mondeo, MKZ, Navigator, Aviator, Nautilus and Continental may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement halogen light bulb part numbers are as follows: Low Beam # H11 and High Beam # 9005. If you would like to have brighter headlights that will also last longer, install some H11 LED and 9005 LED bulbs. No tools are required to replace any of the headlight bulbs on either the driver side or passenger side. You might need a plastic pry bar tool or a small flat head screwdriver to release the retaining clip on the high beam's electrical connector. The first two steps are to open the hood and then move to the side of the vehicle with the burnt out light bulb. |

The original OEM
low beam bulb was a Philips H11. Try to avoid touching the glass part of the new halogen bulb with your fingers or anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, wipe it off with a paper towel and rubbing alcohol. Grease or dirt on the new bulb could cause a hot spot which will shorten the life of the bulb. Push the power plug straight on to the base of a new number H11 light bulb until it clicks securely into place. If you would like to have a brighter low beam light, install a compatible replacement H11 LED bulb. Insert the new bulb into the opening in the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction to secure it into place. |

High Beam - Inner Edge |
Line up the black
rubber access cover and push it back into place. The high beam light bulb is located closer to the inner edge of the assembly just above the front turn signal light bulb. If you need to change the turn signal, you'll have to remove the headlight housing from the engine bay. I made a separate tutorial for this procedure since it is more involved. Check out my 2015-2019 Ford Edge Front Turn Signal Light Bulb Replacement Guide for the full details on the steps involved including the compatible bulb part number. |
