During our weekend at the Bay Cove Motel in Key Largo, we took advantage of the kayaks that guests are allowed to use free of charge.

The hotel is located on the western side of Key Largo, so we launched the kayak into the Buttonwood Sound body of water.

Then we paddled over to the sand bars and small islands covered in mangrove trees and down to Sunset Cove.

Some of the highlights of the day were seeing the variety of sailboats and yachts anchored in the area.

We also were lucky enough to spot a small yellow "upside-down jellyfish" that was repeatedly swimming down to the bottom of the sound to feed. I captured its underwater routine with my Canon SD700 IS inside a WP-DC5 underwater camera case.
