| The 2011
Tampa Tough Mudder Obstacle Course event was held at Little
Everglades Ranch in Dade City, FL on the weekend of December 3rd and
4th. Thousands of participants split up into 17 starting time groups staggered from 8 AM to 1:20 PM tackled a 12 mile long course with 28 obstacles designed by British Special Forces. Registering for the event ranged in price from $80-$150 for Saturday and $60-$150 for Sunday depending on how early you sign up. The fee includes an event t-shirt, 1 Dos Equis beer and a post party with live music. The spectator fee was $20 online before the event or $40 at the gates and a parking fee of $10. To date, the Tough Mudder event series has raised almost $2.4 million dollars for the Wounded Warrior Project. |

| Little Everglades Ranch is located at 17951 Hamilton Rd, Dade City, Pasco County, FL 33523. It's about 45 miles (1 hour) from Tampa, 60 miles (1.5 hours) from Orlando, 95 miles (1 hr 45 mins) from Gainesville, 165 miles (3 hours) from Jacksonville and 250 miles (4.5 hours) from the Fort Lauderdale area. | ||

A few of the
humorously or ominously named obstacles include the Chernobyl Jacuzzi, Kiss
of Mud, Berlin Walls, Spiders Web, Ballshrinker, Dirty Holes, Twinkle Toes,
Walk the Plank, Gator Bait, The Gauntlet, Boa Constrictor, Cliffhanger,
Firewalker, Devils Beard, Hold Your Wood, Funky Monkey, Just the Tip, Turds
Nest, Shake-n-Bake, King of the Mountain, Everest and the
Electro Shock

| Tough Mudder participants or spectators who wanted to stay close to the action all weekend long had the option of camping at Little Everglades Ranch from Friday December 2nd at 2 PM to Monday December 5th at noon. The camping fees are $50 per person with 1 vehicle permit or $250 per RV (recreational vehicle) including up to 4 camper permits. | ||

| Other features of a Tough Mudder event include a post party with beer, a variety of food vendors, live music, tattoo artists on site, and free mullet or mohawk head shaves. An awards show is also held with categories such as the Tough Mudder respect awards, costume awards, toughest mullet, and toughest mohawk. | ||

| Tough Mudder events are held in various parts of the world including Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada and all over the USA. A few of the US states fortunate enough to host events include Georgia (Atlanta), Texas (Houston, San Antonio, Austin, Dallas), New Mexico (Albuquerque), Colorado, Utah (Salt Lake City), California, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Arizona (Phoenix), and Missouri. | ||
