This
automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners
of the 1st generation (2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, & 2013) Nissan
Rogue in changing a burnt out overhead map light bulb or upgrading
them both to brighter LED units. Owners of other Nissan or Infiniti vehicles such as the Versa, Cube, Sentra, Altima, LEAF, Maxima, Juke, Murano, Xterra, Pathfinder, Armada, Quest, Frontier, Titan, 370Z, G37, M37, EX37, FX37, JX35, and QX56 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement map light bulb for the 08-13 Rogue is either a miniature wedge base bulb such as a # 168, W5W, 194 or a DE3175 "festoon" (fuse) style bulb depending on your model year. Please check your old bulb before buying a new one. Either way, the steps for replacement are almost the same. The only tool needed to replace the map light bulbs is a small flathead screwdriver used to pry out the lens cover. |

Pull Out Old Bulb |
Miniature Wedge Base |
Insert the blade of
the flathead screwdriver in between the edge of the translucent map light
bulb lens cover and the overhead console.
Gently pry out the lens at the front and rear of the outer edge. Grasp the old bulb with your thumb and forefinger and pull it straight out of the socket. |

Push In New Bulb |
Press Button - Test Bulb |
The old T3 1/4 base
bulb is marked "12V 8W" and the owner's manual specifies that the front map
light bulb is "8 watts" but no part number is specified. The best I was able
to find are the # 168 or
2825 bulbs which are both 5 watts. Push in a new # 168 miniature wedge base bulb (or a DE3175 festoon bulb) straight in to the socket and test it by pressing the white "On/Off" button. |

Testing Both Map Lights |
Line up the white
translucent plastic lens cover and gently snap it in to place. Test both map lights by pressing on the front part of the lens cover to activate the On/Off switch. For more,
