2016 Maxima Sun Visor
Vanity Mirror & Light
This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the eighth generation (2016, 2017, 2018 and maybe also the 2019 and 2020 model years) Nissan Maxima sports sedan in changing a burnt out vanity mirror light bulb located in the sun visor.

Owners of other Nissan or Infiniti vehicles such as the Versa, Altima, Juke, Rogue, Rogue Sport, Murano, Xterra, Pathfinder, Sentra, Cube, Armada, Leaf, Quest, Frontier, 370Z, GT-R, Titan, Kicks, NV, NV200, G25, G37, M35 and M37 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

A few compatible replacement "miniature fuse" type light bulbs with their part numbers include the following: ACDelco 13502343, Eiko 40842 - 6614F, 6614F, TS-14V1CP, Bulbrite 756320 - 6614F and the Putco 230003 LED.

The only tool needed to replace the light bulb is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool.

Pry Out Plastic Lens Cover
Lens Cover Removed
To prevent from scratching the plastic surfaces, you may choose to either cover the tip of your screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth or use a small plastic pry bar tool.

Insert the blade of your screwdriver in between the outer edge of the lens cover and mirror housing.

Gently pry out the lens cover.

Try to avoid using excessive force. The lens cover should pop out relatively easily.

Set the lens cover aside in a safe place.

Pry Out Metal Base of Bulb
Light Bulb Metal End Cap
Use the small flathead screwdriver to carefully pry out the old light bulb at one of the metal end caps.

Do NOT pry on the glass part of the old bulb to prevent from having it shatter and send shards of glass flying into your face and eyes.

Be careful when you remove the old light bulb. If it was recently turned on, it might still be hot enough to burn your fingers.

Pull Out Old Light Bulb
Old Light Bulb Removed
Carefully pull the old light bulb straight out of the socket.

The OEM miniature fuse style light bulb was marked as part number PE14V1.5CP.

A few compatible replacement light bulbs with their part numbers are as follows: TS-14V1CP, 6614F and ACDelco 13502343.

Empty Bulb Socket
Insert New Light Bulb
Push a new compatible replacement light bulb straight into the socket.

Make sure the new bulb is securely seated in the socket.

New Light Bulb Installed
Line Up Plastic Lens Cover
The new light bulb should have turned on as soon as it was inserted into the socket.

Tip - If you are installing an LED bulb and it doesn't work, try pulling it out of the socket, rotating it 180 degrees and push it back into the socket. Some LED bulbs are "polarized" and can only be installed in one orientation.

Gently Pop In Lens Cover
Testing New Light Bulb
Line up the translucent plastic lens cover and gently snap it back into place.

To test the light's on / off switch, close and open the plastic flap that covers the mirror.

Be sure to record the bulb change in your car's service records.
