This
automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners
of the 3rd generation 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014 Nissan Cube in cleaning or
replacing the HVAC system's cabin air filter element. Owners of earlier 1998-2002 or 2002-2008 Nissan Cube vehicles or other Nissan models such as the Versa, Sentra, Altima, Maxima, Juke, Rogue and Murano may also find this guide to be helpful. A few compatible replacement cabin air filter elements for the Nissan Cube include the following with their respective part numbers are as follows: TYC 800138P, Nissan B7891-1FC0A, Fram CF11177, Wix 24012, Denso 453-6031, EcoGard XC10303, ACDelco CF3324 and Beck Arnley 042-2187. The tools need to complete this procedure include a Phillips head screwdriver and a flathead screwdriver. |

Lower Screws |
|
First get into the
front passenger seat of your Nissan Cube and open the glove box.
Remove the four Phillips head screws located at the top of the glove box's interior. |
||
Two Interior Screws |
||
Then move to the
bottom part of the glove box and remove the 3 Phillips head screws along the
lower edge.
The last two Phillips head screws are located inside the glove box. |

Gently Pull Out Glove Box |

Once all 9 of the
screws have been removed, you can gently pull the glove box away from the
car.
If the glove box doesn't come out easily, try wiggling it while pulling towards the rear of the car. |

Remove Cabin Air Filter |
|
To remove the OEM
cabin air filter element, pull on the white fabric tab.
The filter is compressed into the blow motor housing, so it may be difficult to remove. Once you pull it out part of the way, squeeze together the pleats and pull out the rest of the cabin air filter. |

Clean Out Filter Element |
If your old cabin
air filter doesn't look too dirty, you can just tap out the large debris and
clean it with a wet/dry shop vacuum before reinstalling it. If your filter is dark grey or black and clogged with leaves, insects, dirt, dust, or hair, you should just replace it with a new cabin air filter element. I recommend buying the TYC 800138P cabin air filter since it has excellent reviews on Amazon. |

Then compress the pleats of the filter element together and slide it into the blower motor housing. |
