| Lion
Country Safari is a popular attraction located in South Florida that
features a five mile long "drive through zoo" and also the walk
through Safari World theme park. Visitors are welcome at Lion Country Safari every day of the year from 10 AM to 5 PM on weekdays and 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM on weekends or holidays. The admission prices are $26.50 for adults, $23.50 for seniors, $19.50 for children (3-9), and free for kids 2 and under. Be sure to check the Lion Country Safari website for a printable coupon that offers discounts ranging from about $5 to $8 off per person. To reach the park, set your GPS unit for 2003 Lion Country Safari Road, Loxahatchee, FL 33470. Alternatively, you can take the Turnpike or I95 to Southern Blvd and head west. | While traveling in
the drive through safari section of the zoo, visitors can listen to an
educational CD that lists the animals and explains a bit about each of them.

| The preserve is split into sections named after the origins of the animals that inhabit them including Las Pampas (South American grasslands), Ruaha National Park (African wilderness), Kalahari Bushveldt (African dry plateau), Gir Forest (Indian national park), the Gorongosa (Mozambique African wildlife area), Serengeti Plains (east African wildlife area), and the Hwange National Park (reserve in western Zimbabwe). | ||

| Some of the animal species represented in the drive through preserve include the African Lion, Wildebeest, Ostrich, Giraffe, White-Handed Gibbon, Chimpanzee, Grant's Zebra, Southern White Rhinoceros, Llama, South American Tapir, Aldabra Tortoise, Greater Kudu, Gemsbok, Asiatic Water Buffalo, Blackbuck, Kulan, Blackbuck, Mouflon, and Watusi. | ||

| In the walk through Safari World amusement park, you can admire more animals including the African Crested Porcupine, Spider Monkey, Siamang, Pygmy Goat, Oberhasli Goat, Miniature Sicillian Donkey, Dall's Sheep, Squirrel Monkey, Asian Potbellied Pig, African Spurred Tortoise, Green Iguana, Florida King Snake, Burmese Python, American Alligator, Macaw, Lory, Lorikket bird, Caribbean Flamingo, and Amazon Parrot. | ||
