This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the second generation (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 &
2015) Kia Sorento SUV in changing the front windshield window wiper
blades. Owners of other Kia and Hyundai vehicles such as the Optima, Forte, Cadenza, K900, Rio, Sportage, Sedona, Soul, Elantra, Veloster, Sonata, Azera, Tucson, Santa Fe, Genesis and Equus may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The wiper blade sizes in inches are as follows: Driver Side 24" and Passenger Side 20". A few compatible wiper blades with their part numbers include the following: Bosch 24A & Bosch 20A, Rain-X 5079280-1 & Rain-X 5079277-1, Valeo 900-24-1B & Valeo 900-20-1B, Anco 31-24 & Anco 31-20, Bosch 24-CA & Bosch 20-CA, Michelin 8524 & Michelin 8520, Trico 24-1 & Trico 20-1 and Michelin 8024 & Michelin 8020. No tools are needed to change the windshield wiper blades. |

Release Tab |
Push In Release Tab |
Slide Mount Off Hook |
Lift the wiper arm
off the windshield until it remains in the raised position by itself. Rotate the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm at a slight angle. Push in the small black plastic release tab at the center of the old wiper blade. Slide the old wiper blade down to remove the plastic mounting bracket from the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm. Continue rotating the old wiper blade until it is parallel with the metal wiper arm. Pass the metal hook through the opening in the old wiper blade. |

Pass Hook Through Opening |
Towel - Protect Glass |
Insert Hook Through New Blade |
Place a towel down
on the windshield to protect the glass from being cracked, shattered,
scratched or chipped just in case the wiper arm smacks down on the window
while you are replacing the blade. I recommend buying the Bosch 24A and Bosch 20A wiper blades since they have excellent reviews on Amazon. Line up the new wiper blade with the metal wiper arm. Pass the hook through the opening in the new wiper blade. |

Rotate New Blade |
Slide Bracket In To Hook |
Lower Arm To Windshield |
Rotate the new
wiper blade until it is almost parallel with the wiper arm. Slide the plastic mounting bracket in to the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm until it clicks securely in to place. Gently lower the wiper arm down to the windshield. For the best wiper performance, I'd recommend thoroughly cleaning the windshield and applying a window treatment product such as Rain-X.
