2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016) Jeep Patriot SUV in cleaning or changing
the A/C system's cabin air filter element in the HVAC blower motor
housing. Owners of other Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat and RAM vehicles such as the Compass, Renegade, Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Cherokee, 500, Town & Country, 200, 300, Pacifica, Challenger, Charger, Dart, Durango, Journey, Grand Caravan, RAM 1500, C/V Tradesman and ProMaster Van may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A few compatible replacement cabin air filters with their part numbers are as follows: Purolator C25869, Fram CF10729, TYC 800142P, ATP Automotive CF-75, Ecogard XC25869C, OEM CAF179P, Premium Guard PC4313, Pentius PHP5869, Mann Filter MC 1071, K&N VF2013 and Bosch P3899WS. Slide Out Old Filter |
Inspect Both Sides |
Pull the old cabin
filter straight out of the slot. Inspect both sides of the old filter. If the old filter is relatively clean, just tap out the large debris and remove any fine dust with a vacuum cleaner. If the old filter is dark grey or black and clogged with soot, dirt, dust, pollen, leaves, insects, leaves, hair and other debris, it should be replaced with a new element. I recommend buying the Purolator C25869 cabin air filter since it has excellent reviews on Amazon. If you've had problems with your A/C system smelling musty or moldy, go with the Fram CF10729 "Fresh Breeze" filter which has Arm & Hammer baking soda and carbon embedded in the filter to absorb odors. |
