This
automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners
of the 2nd generation 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012 Jeep Liberty SUV in replacing a
blown electrical fuse in the engine bay fuse block. Owners of other Jeep, Dodge or Chrysler vehicles such as the Cherokee, Compass, Patriot, Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Grand Caravan, Nitro, Dart, Avenger, Challenger, Durango, Journey, Charger, Town & Country, 300, and 200 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. Replacement mini blade fuses can be purchased at any auto parts stores, Walmart, your dealership or online at Amazon. No additional tools are needed to replace any of the fuses in the engine bay fuse block.A bright yellow fuse puller tool is included at the front driver side corner of the fuse block. |

Pinch the larger
end of the fuse puller tool to open the jaws and push them on to the fuse
you'd like to inspect or replace. Release some pressure on the end of the fuse puller tool and pull the fuse straight out of the block. Inspect the fuse by holding it up to a light source. If the thin metal strip inside the fuse appears to be intact, the fuse is still good. If the metal strip appears to be broken or burnt, then the fuse is most likely blown and needs to be replaced. Even if the fuse appears to be intact, you should still replace it as part of any electrical problem troubleshooting process since they are so inexpensive. |
