This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the fifth generation (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and probably
also the refreshed 2018 model year) Jeep Cherokee in changing a
burnt out front turn signal or front side marker light bulb. Owners of other Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Fiat and RAM vehicles such as the Compass, Renegade, Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Patriot, 500, Town & Country, 200, 300, Pacifica, Challenger, Charger, Dart, Durango, Journey, Grand Caravan, RAM 1500, C/V Tradesman and ProMaster Van may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement light bulb part numbers are as follows: Front Turn Signal # 7440A (or WY21W) and Front Side Marker # 194. No tools are needed to access and replace the light bulbs. |

Pull Out Old Light Bulb |

The first two steps
are to open the hood and then move to the side of the SUV with the burnt out
light bulb. Rotate the tan plastic base of the front turn signal light bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. Pull the old light bulb straight out of the socket. |

Push a new amber
colored number
7440A or
WY21W bulb straight in to
the socket. Re-insert the socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. |

The small black and
grey plastic side marker light bulb socket is located near the outer edge of
the housing. For better access to the socket, I recommend disconnecting the green plastic power plug for the LED light strip. Press the release tab on the green electrical connector before pulling it straight off. Then rotate the side marker bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. |

Test New Light Bulbs |
Re-insert the side
marker bulb socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to
secure it in place. Push the green plastic electrical connector for the LED light strip back in to place. To test the new light bulbs, turn on the headlights and activate the hazard signals. For more,
