This
automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners
of the 2nd generation (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014) Honda Fit or Honda Jazz vehicles in
replacing a burnt out overhead dome light bulb. Owners of previous generation 2001-2008 Fit or Jazz vehicles, or similar Honda Global Small Car vehicles such as the Airwave, Partner, Mobilio, Freed, Logo, City, and Aria may also find this guide to be useful. A new replacement bulb for the overhead dome light is part number DE3022 from Sylvania and other automotive manufacturers. You can also use a brighter DE3022 LED bulb. The only tool needed to change the dome light bulb is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool. A key, coin, knife or any other similar item could be used instead to pry off the dome light cover. |

Pull Out Old Light Bulb |
Part # DE3022 Bulb |
The first step is
to use a small flathead screwdriver to carefully pry off the dome light bulb
lens cover.
It shouldn't require much force to pop off the lens cover and expose the old light bulb. Grasp the old bulb with your thumb and forefinger in order to pull it out of the dome light bulb housing. If you have trouble removing the bulb, use the flathead screwdriver to pry it out and keep your hand below the housing to catch the old bulb when it pops out. |

Push In New DE3022 Bulb |
Slide Switch To "On" |
Carefully push in a
new # DE3022 light bulb and slide the switch over to the "ON" position to
test the new light bulb. If you are installing an LED bulb and it doesn't work at first, try flipping it around in the socket. |

Line Up Dome Light Cover |
Snap Dome Light Lens In |
Test New Dome Light Bulb |
To finish the job,
orientate the lens cover in the correct position and gently push it back
into the housing.
It should only require minimal pressure to securely snap it into place. Test the new bulb one last time and double check that the lens cover is not loose. For more, please check out my
