This
automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners
of the 2nd generation (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014) Honda Fit or Honda Jazz vehicles in
replacing a burnt out bulb in the cargo area of the car. Owners of previous generation 2001-2008 Fit or Jazz vehicles, or similar Honda Global Small Car models such as the Airwave, Partner, Mobilio, Freed, Logo, City, and Aria may also find this guide to be useful. A replacement light bulb for the cargo area of a Honda Fit is part # 168 from Sylvania and other automotive part manufacturers. You can also use a brighter LED bulb. The only tool needed to replace the cargo area light bulb in a 2nd generation '09-'12 Honda Fit or Jazz is a small flathead screwdriver. You could also use a plastic pry bar tool, a car key or any similar objects. |

Part # 168 Light Bulb |
To access the cargo
area light bulb, you'll need a flathead screwdriver in order to pry out the
light fixture.
Insert the blade of the screwdriver into the notch at the top middle edge of the lens and pull the screwdriver downwards until the lens pops out. Remove the old light bulb by grasping it with your thumb and forefinger before pulling it straight of the socket. |

Test New Light Bulb |
Replace the old
bulb with a new # 168 light bulb by pushing it straight into the socket.
If necessary, you can also use any other miniature wedge base bulbs such as the number 158, 2825, W5W, 194 or a compatible LED bulb. Test the new light bulb by opening the hatchback door or unlocking the car with the key fob remote control. |

To finish the job,
re-install the light fixture by first inserting the side with the wires.
Then gently snap the other side back into place until the lens rests flush
