UF Student Agricultural
Gardens
Pictures of the Student Agricultural
Gardens located on the University of Florida Campus in Gainesville, FL.
University of Florida's
Student Agriculture Council has provided garden plots, for over twenty
years, to UF students, alumni, staff, retired UF faculty and
Gainesville residents. The UF Student Agricultural Gardens are located right next to the Bat House and across from Lake Alice on Museum Rd. During my visit to Gainesville Florida in May 2006, I took a few pictures of the gardens while a couple was tending to their crops. I couldn't tell exactly what they were growing but I did see tomatoes, and different types of herbs. Prospective amateur gardeners can rent a plot for either a semester or the entire year. The rental fee for a year is $30.00. The information and contracts for renting a plot at the University of Florida Student Agricultural Gardens are located inside the mailbox at the front entrance. |
