Chevrolet
Tahoe Rear Wiper Blade Replacement Guide
How to change the rear windshield window
wiper blade on a 3rd generation 2007 to 2014 GM Chevy Tahoe SUV.
2014 Tahoe Rear Wiper |
Pull Off Plastic Cap On Base |
Plastic End Cover Removed |
This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the third generation (2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012,
2013 & 2014) Chevrolet Tahoe in changing the rear windshield
window wiper blade. Owners of related General Motors full size SUV vehicles with similar rear wiper arms such as the Suburban, GMC Yukon, Yukon XL, Yukon Denali, Cadillac Escalade and Hummer H2 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement rear wiper blade is 12" (inches) in size. A few compatible replacement wiper blades with their part numbers include the following.: Michelin 9512, Anco AR-12E, Trico 12-E, ACDelco 8-212E, Rain-X 850006 R12E, Bosch H300 and Silblade RB112-E. No tools are needed to replace the rear wiper blade. For the best results, I'd recommend using a window treatment product such as Rain-X that will help repel water. |

Lift Wiper Arm Off Tail Gate |
Rotate Old Wiper Blade |
Pop Mounting Bar Out |
The first step is
to gently pull off the plastic "C" shaped cover at the base of the wiper
arm. Set the end cap aside in a safe place. Lift the center of the wiper arm out of the stop tab attached to the tailgate. Then pull the wiper arm away from the tail gate. Rotate the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm until it is almost perpendicular. |

Mounting Bar On Old Blade |
"C" Shaped Socket On Arm |
Line Up New Wiper Blade |
Gently pop the
mounting bar in the center of the old wiper blade out of the "C" shaped
socket in the bracket at the end of the wiper arm. I recommend buying the Trico 12-E rear wiper blade since it has excellent reviews on Amazon. Line up the hole in the center of the new wiper blade with the end of the wiper arm. |

||
Insert Arm Through Blade |
Pop Bar In To "C" Socket |
Rotate New Blade Parallel |
Insert the end of
the wiper arm through the hole in the wiper blade. Snap the mounting bar in the center of the new wiper blade in to the socket on the wiper arm. Rotate the new blade until it is parallel with the wiper arm. |
||
Insert Stop Tab In Slot |
Push Plastic Cap On Base |
Rear Wiper Blade Installed |
Lower the "stop
tab" at the center of the wiper arm in to the slot in the bracket attached
to the tail gate. For the best results, thoroughly clean the rear window and apply a treatment product such as Rain-X or Zaino Bros Glass Polish. For more,
