This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the fifth generation (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014 & 2015)
GM Chevrolet Camaro in changing a burnt out front side marker light
bulb in the front fascia bumper cover. Owners of other General Motors vehicles such as the Spark, Cruze, Malibu, Sonic, Impala, Traverse, Tahoe, Trax, SS, GMC Terrain, Acadia, Yukon, Buick Verano, Regal, LaCrosse, Encore, Enclave and the Holden Barina may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement front side marker light bulb is part number 194 which is available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Eiko and PIAA. If you would like to have brighter side marker lights, install some compatible 194 LED bulbs. The tools needed to complete this procedure include a Torx T20 star bit screwdriver and a flathead screwdriver. |

3 Torx T20 Screws Removed |
Pull Back Wheel Well Liner |
Release Retaining Clip |
The first step is
to turn the steering all the way in the opposite direction of the burnt out
front side marker light bulb. Turning the front wheels will give you more room to access the wheel well liner (or "splash guard"). Remove the three screws that hold the wheel well liner in place by turning them counterclockwise with the Torx T-20 star bit screwdriver. Set the three screws aside in a safe place. Gently pull back the black plastic wheel well liner to access the front side marker light bulb housing. |

Push In With Screwdriver |
Light Housing Removed |
Disconnect Power Plug |
Use a flathead
screwdriver to gently push in and release the plastic retaining clip near
the rear edge of the housing. Pull the tab at the front of the housing out of the fascia bumper cover. Press the release tab on the power plug before sliding it straight off the base of the socket. |

|
||
1/4 Turn Counterclockwise |
Pull Out Old Bulb |
Push In New # 194 Bulb |
Rotate the base of
the bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it out of the
housing. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket and push in a new # 194 bulb. If necessary, you may also be able to use any other miniature wedge base bulbs such as the # 158, 168, W5W, 2825 or a compatible LED bulb. |
||
1/4 Turn Clockwise - Lock |
Push On Electrical Connector |
Insert Plastic Tab On Front |
Re-insert the
socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in
place. Push the power plug on to the base of the socket until it clicks securely in to place. First re-insert the tab on the front edge of the housing in to the fascia bumper cover. |
||
Pop In Retaining Clip |
Close Wheel Well Liner |
Tighten Torx T-20 Screws |
Gently snap in the
retaining clip on the rear edge of the housing. Push the wheel well liner back in to place. Tighten the three screws in the clockwise direction with the Torx T20 star bit screwdriver. For more,
