This
automotive tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the
MK3 third generation (2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014) Ford Focus sedan in
changing a burnt out cargo area or trunk light bulb or upgrading it
to a brighter LED unit. Owners of other similar Ford sedan or hatchback vehicles such as the Fiesta, Fusion, Taurus and C-Max may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement trunk light bulb is part number 2825. If you would like to have a brighter trunk light, install a compatible 2825 LED bulb. You may also use any other miniature wedge base bulb such as the # 168, 194 or W5W. The bulbs are available from manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, PIAA, Eiko and Philips. The only tool needed to replace the bulb is a small flathead screwdriver used to pry out the housing from the roof of the trunk. |

Pull Out Old # 2825 Bulb |
Push In New Bulb |
Insert Wires & Right Side |
Insert the blade of
the small flathead screwdriver in to the notch on the left side of the
housing.
Gently pry the housing out of the metal panel. If the light bulb is illuminated, do not touch it with your bare fingers to avoid burning your skin. Pull the old bulb straight out of the socket. If the bulb is on, it will be very hot, so use gloves to remove it or disconnect the power plug. Push a new # 2825 bulb straight in to the socket. You can also use other miniature wedge base bulbs such as the 168, 194 or a compatible LED unit. |

Pop In Left Side of Housing |

Test New Light Bulb |
Re-insert the wires
and the right side of the housing in first.
Then gently pop in the left side of the housing in to place. If the car's interior lights turned off, test the new trunk light bulb by pressing the "unlock" button on the key fob. For more,
