This
automotive tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the
MK III 3rd generation (2011, 2012, 2013 & 2014) Ford Focus in
changing a burnt out fog light bulb in the front bumper. Owners of other similar Ford sedan or hatchback vehicles such as the Fiesta, Fusion, Taurus, and C-Max may also find these DIY instructions to be helfpul. A replacement fog light bulb is part number H11 available from manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Philips, PIAA, Nokya, and Eiko. (The low beam headlights are also # H11 bulbs, so if necessary, you could use the fog light bulbs to temporarily replace a burnt out headlight.) The only tool needed to access and replace the fog light bulbs is a Torx T-30 star bit screwdriver. A floor jack and two jack stands are optional items to make the procedure easier. |

The fog light bulbs
can be accessed from underneath the front bumper and through the under
engine splash guard. If you have a floor jack and jack stands, raise the front of the vehicle a few inches. Be sure to securely support the vehicle with the jack stands before getting underneath it. Remove the screw just in front of the wheel well by turning it counter clockwise with the Torx T30 star bit screwdriver. I only needed to remove the one screw to pull back the splash guard and access the old fog light bulb. It looked like there may have been a missing screw or plastic pop rivet fasteners on the underside of this 2012 Focus. You may need to remove additional screws or fasteners to loosen the splash guard enough to gain access to the bulb. |

Pull back the
plastic panel and reach in to the fog light bulb housing. Rotate the base of the bulb 1/4 turn counter clockwise and pull it straight out. Gently pry up the retaining clips on the power connector and slide it straight off the base of the old bulb. |

Try to avoid
touching the glass part of the new halogen
H11 bulb with your fingers or
anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the bulb dirty, wipe it
clean with an alcohol moistened paper towel. Insert the new bulb in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. Push the power plug straight on to the base of the bulb until it clicks securely in place. |

Push the splash
shield back in to place and tighten the Torx T30 star bit screw by turning
it clockwise.
Replace any additional screws of pop rivet fasteners that you may have removed. Test the new fog light bulbs by turning on the headlights and the fog light switch. For more,
