This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the sixth generation (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 and possibly also the 2016 model year) Ford Fiesta hatchback in changing a burnt out brake, rear turn signal or reverse bulb in the tail light assemblies.

Owners of other Ford or Lincoln vehicles such as the Focus, Fusion, C-Max, Mustang, Escape, Transit Connect, Edge, Flex, Explorer, Expedition, Taurus, F-150, EcoSport, MKC, MKZ, MKS, MKX, MKT and the Navigator may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

Replacement bulbs with their part numbers are as follows: Brake # 3157K, Rear Turn Signal 3757NAK (or 3157NA) and Reverse Light # 921 (or W16W).

The tools needed to complete this procedure include a star bit Torx T25 screwdriver and a plastic automotive panel pry tool.

Remove 2nd T25 Screw
This guide was created with a Fiesta hatchback. The steps should be similar for the sedan models. Just open the trunk lid, pry out any plastic fasteners and pull back the trunk carpet liner to access the bulb sockets.

Open the tailgate door on the rear end of the hatchback and move to the side of the vehicle with the burnt out bulb.

Remove the two screws along the inner edge of the tail light housing by turning them counterclockwise with a Torx T25 star bit screwdriver.

Set the two screws aside in a safe place.

The tail light housing is still held in place to the rear corner of the vehicle by two pegs or "spikes" inserted in to plastic grommets.

Try to pull the tail light housing straight off the rear of the vehicle.

If you have trouble removing it, carefully pry along the outer edge with a plastic automotive panel tool to loosen the two peg friction fasteners.
