This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the first generation (2017, 2018, 2019 and probably also the 2020 and 2021 model years) Chrysler Pacifica minivan in changing a burnt out combination dual filament brake and rear turn signal light bulb or the reverse (back-up) bulb in the tail light housings.

Owners of other FCA (Fiat Chrysler America) vehicles from Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM or Fiat such as the Town & Country, 300, 200, Charger, Challenger, Durango, Journey, Grand Caravan, Wrangler, Grand Cherokee, Compass, Renegade, Patriot, RAM 1500, RAM ProMaster City, Fiat 500 and Fiat 124 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The compatible replacement light bulb part numbers are as follows: Brake & Rear Turn Signal # 7443 (or W21/5W) and Reverse # 7440 (also known as number W21W).

The only tool needed to remove the tail light housing and access the bulb sockets is a Torx T30 star bit screwdriver.

Pull Off Tail Light Housing
The first two steps are to open the rear tailgate and then move to the side of the vehicle with the burnt out tail light bulb.

The combination rear turn signal and brake light bulb is located inside the outer tail light housing attached to the rear corner of the minivan.

Remove the two screws located on the inner edge of the tail light housing (near the cargo area) by turning them in the counterclockwise direction with a Torx T-30 star bit screwdriver.

Set the two screws aside in a safe place.

The tail light housing is still held in place by a metal peg on the back side that acts as a friction fastener inserted into a slot on the rear of the vehicle.

Gently pull the tail light housing straight off the rear corner of the minivan.

You may need to wiggle the housing or use a plastic pry bar tool to pry along the outer edge to loosen the peg.
