The Berkshire Springs Stock Ale is modeled after the American strong ales of the 1800's which were influenced by the English brewing traditions in New England. This ale poured with a large beige head on top of a amber red body that looks clear and filtered well. In the nose I detect some earthy notes, caramel, fruits, and grain. Berkshire Springs has a pleasant taste with hints of honey, caramel, wood like malts, some bitterness in the hops, and vanilla. |
