Key Fob Battery Change

After a couple of years of daily use opening and closing the doors of your sixth generation (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and probably also the 2021 model year) Hyundai Elantra the battery inside the key fob remote control can become weak or stop working entirely.

Map Light Bulbs Change

Cabin Air Filter Change

If the air conditioning system in your 6th generation (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and perhaps also the 2021 model year) Hyundai Elantra hasn't been working well recently or the air coming out of the vents smells a bit musty or moldy, you may need to clean or change the cabin air filter element in the HVAC blower motor housing. Door Panel Removal

If you would like to upgrade the OEM door speakers in your Elantra, you'll first have to take off the plastic interior door panels.

The separate light housing attached to the trunk lid of a sixth generation Hyundai Elantra contains the reverse (back-up) and inner parking light bulb. Headlight Bulbs Change

The headlight housings of a sixth generation Elantra contain the low beam, high beam, front turn signal and side marker light bulbs. Electrical Fuse Change

The best place to start when troubleshooting any electrical problem with your Elantra is to check for a blown fuse or a faulty relay in either the engine bay or interior passenger compartment electrical panels.

12V Car Battery Change

If you've been having difficulty starting the Nu MPi 2.0L Atkinson Cycle inline four cylinder engine in your Elantra on a cold morning and the original 12 volt car battery is a few years old, you probably need to replace it.

Engine Air Filter Change

According to the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual, the service interval for the engine air filter element for the Nu 2.0L MPi I4 engine is to have it changed every 22.5K miles (or every 36 months / 36K KM). I also recommend cleaning it at every oil change which should be done every 7,500 miles. Spark Plugs Change

The OEM iridium tipped Yura ELR9IQP9+ spark plugs should be replaced every 97,500 miles according to the owner's manual. I would also recommend checking their condition at least every 30K miles.

Camshaft Sensors

Some of the symptoms of a failing or faulty camshaft position sensor include misfires, stalling, slow acceleration, hard starting, poor fuel economy (reduced MPG), jerking, hesitating, rough idling, a loss of power, smoke, oil consumption, knocking and a CEL or SES warning (check engine light or service engine soon).

Engine Oil Change

The best way to keep your Elantra running reliably for many years is to regularly change the motor oil and replace the oil filter on the Nu MPI 2.0 liter Atkinson cycle inline four cylinder engine. The service interval specification in the owner's manual is to change the oil and filter at least every 7,500 miles (12,000 KM).

Front Brake Pads Change

If you've been hearing a screeching, scraping, squealing or grinding noise coming from the front end of your Elantra when you step on the brake pedal, you probably need to change the front brake pads.

Rear Brake Pads Change

The rear disc brake pads tend to last twice as long as the front pads or anywhere from 60,000 miles to over 100,000 miles depending on your driving conditions.
