According to the maintenance schedule in the owner's manual, the service interval for the engine air filter element for the Nu 2.0L MPi I4 engine is to have it changed every 22.5K miles (or every 36 months / 36K KM). The best way to keep your Elantra running reliably for many years is to regularly change the motor oil and replace the oil filter on the Nu MPI 2.0 liter Atkinson cycle inline four cylinder engine. The service interval specification in the owner's manual is to change the oil and filter at least every 7,500 miles (12,000 KM).
