This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the "JL" fourth generation (2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022 & 2023) Jeep Wrangler SUV in changing the front windshield window wiper blades. Owners of other Jeep, Dodge and RAM vehicles such as the Grand Cherokee, Compass, Renegade, Gladiator, Cherokee, Grand Wagoneer, Wagoneer, Charger, Challenger, Durango, RAM 1500, Promaster, 2500 and 3500 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The OEM (original equipment manufacturer) wiper blades sizes in inches are as follows: Driver Side 16" and Passenger Side 16". A few compatible replacement 16" aftermarket wiper blades with their part numbers include the following: Bosch 4816, Rain-X 5079274-2, Trico Gold 18-1616 and Bosch ICON 16A. No tools are needed to remove and replace the wiper blades. The first step is to gently lift the wiper arm off the windshield until it remains in the raised position by itself. Rotate the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm at a slight angle. |

Place a towel on
the windshield to protect the glass from being chipped, shattered, cracked
or scratched just in case the metal wiper arm smacks down on to the window
while you are replacing the wiper blade. I've always preferred using the Bosch ICON series, so I personally recommend buying the Bosch ICON 16A wiper blades. Line up the new wiper blade with the metal wiper arm. |

Slide the plastic

Double check that
the new wiper blade is securely attached to the wiper arm before moving on
to the other side. Be sure to write down the blade change in your vehicle's service records. For the best wiper performance, I highly recommend cleaning the windshield and applying a window treatment product such as Rain-X that will help repel water from the glass. For more,
