This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the third generation (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020) Kia Sorento SUV in changing the rear wiper blade on the back windshield window. Owners of other Kia, Hyundai and Genesis vehicles such as the Soul, Seltos, Sportage, Niro, Telluride, Forte, Rio, Optima, Stinger, Cadenza, K900, Sedona, Kona, Venue, Santa Fe, Elantra, Sonata, Accent, Veloster, Ioniq, Nexo, G70, G80 and G90 may also find these instructions to be helpful. The OEM wiper blade size in inches is 12" and the genuine Kia / Hyundai part number is 98850-C5100 (also known as 98850C5100). A compatible replacement aftermarket rear wiper blade is the Trico 12K (also known as 12-K). No tools are required to remove and replace the blade. The first step is to gently lift up the black plastic trim piece on the base of the wiper arm that covers the mounting nut and threaded rod. |

If you look at the
center of the old wiper blade, you'll see the mounting bar and the two small
guide pegs. I recommend buying the OEM (original equipment manufacturer) rear wiper blade which is the Kia 98850-C5100. You could also instead buy the Trico 12K aftermarket wiper blade. |

Line up the new
wiper blade with the end of the wiper arm. Make sure that the two small guide pegs are in the correct orientation. The two small pegs should be closer to the passenger side of the SUV. Insert the mounting bar into the "C" shaped socket at the end of the wiper arm. Rotate the new wiper blade towards the wiper arm. |
