This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the third generation (2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020) Kia Sorento SUV in changing a burnt out low beam, high beam and front turn signal light bulb located in the headlight housings. Owners of other Kia, Hyundai and Genesis vehicles such as the Soul, Seltos, Sportage, Niro, Telluride, Forte, Rio, Optima, Stinger, Cadenza, K900, Sedona, Kona, Venue, Santa Fe, Elantra, Sonata, Accent, Veloster, Ioniq, Nexo, G70, G80 and G90 may also find these instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement bulb part numbers for this 2019 Sorento are as follows: Low Beam # H7, High Beam # 9005 and Front Turn Signal # 2357A (or 2357NA). Please double check the part numbers on your old light bulbs before purchasing new ones. Earlier 2016, 2017 and 2018 Sorento models are equipped with H7 bulbs for both the low and high beam. If you would like to have brighter lights, install some H7 LED, 9005 LED and 2357A LED bulbs. No tools are required to access and replace any of the bulbs. The first two steps are to open the hood and then move to the side of the vehicle with the burnt out headlight bulb. The low beam light bulb is situated at the center of the headlight housing. Reach in the engine bay behind the headlight assembly and remove the round black plastic dust cap by rotating it 1/4 turn in the counterclockwise direction. |

Avoid touching the
glass part of the new halogen light bulb with your fingers or anything
greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, wipe it with a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol. Install the new high beam bulb into the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction to secure it into place. Slide the electrical connector on to the base of the new light bulb. You should feel or hear the electrical connector's retaining clip "click" securely into place. |

Push a new bayonet style number 2357A (or 2357NA "natural amber") light bulb down into the socket and rotate it 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction to secure it into place. If you would like to have brighter front turn signal lights that will also last much longer before burning out, install some compatible replacement 2357A LED light bulbs. (The front side marker lights are comprised of LED bulbs that should last the life time of the vehicle.) |

![]() Test New Headlight Bulbs |
Clean off any
grease, oil or dust from the new halogen front turn signal light bulb with a
paper towel and some rubbing alcohol. Re-insert the bulb socket into the opening and rotate it 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction to secure it into place. To test the new light bulbs, turn on the headlights, flash the high beams and activate the hazard signals. Tip - If you installed any LED bulbs and they don't work, try unplugging the electrical connector, rotating it 180 degrees and pushing it back on to the base of the bulb. Some LED bulbs are polarized and will only work when the "+" positive and "-" negative electrical contacts are in the correct orientation. Be sure to write down the bulb change in your vehicle's service records. Please
