This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the third generation (2016, 2017, 2018 plus the updated
2019 and 2020 model years) Hyundai Tucson SUV in changing a burnt
out low beam, high beam, front turn signal or side marker light bulb
in the headlight housings. Owners of other Hyundai, Kia and Genesis vehicles such as the Santa Fe, Kona, Elantra, Sonata, Accent, Veloster, Ioniq, Nexo, G80, G90, Stinger, Rio, Forte, Optima, Cadenza, K900, Soul, Niro, Sportage, Sorento and Sedona may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement light bulb part numbers as as follows: Low Beam # H7, High Beam # H7, Front Turn Signal 2357NA (or 2357A & PY28/8W) and Side Marker # 2825 (or W5W). No tools are needed to access and replace any of the light bulbs in the driver or passenger side headlight assemblies. |

The first two steps
are to open the hood and then move to the side of the SUV with the burnt out
headlight bulb. The low beam light bulb is located near the outer edge of the headlight assembly. The low beam lens looks like a cloudy eye. Reach in behind the assembly and rotate the round black plastic dust cover 1/4 turn in the counterclockwise direction before pulling it straight off. Set the dust cap aside in a safe place. |

Try to avoid touching the glass part of the new halogen light bulb with your fingers or anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, wipe it clean with a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol. Push a new number H7 light bulb straight into the socket. |

Install New High Beam |
Swing down the
metal retaining clip to release the old high beam bulb. Pull the old high beam bulb straight out of the socket. Avoid touching the glass part of the new halogen bulb with your fingers or anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get it dirty, wipe it clean with a paper towel moistened with rubbing alcohol. Having grease or dirt on the halogen bulb can cause a "hot spot" that will either reduce the bulb's life or cause it to shatter. Push a new number H7 light bulb straight into the socket. It can only be inserted in one orientation with the metal tab located at the bottom of the bulb. |
||
Re-Attach Retaining Arm |
Metal Bar Secured |
