Windshield Wiper Blades Replacement Guide
How to change the windshield window wiper
blades on a 3rd generation 2015, 2016, 2017 & 2018 Nissan Murano.
2017 Nissan Murano |
Windshield Wiper Blades |
This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the third generation (2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 and probably
also the revised 2019 & 2020 model years) Nissan Murano SUV in
changing the front windshield window wiper blades. Owners of other Nissan and Infiniti vehicles such as the Rogue, Pathfinder, Armada, Versa, Sentra, Altima, Maxima, Leaf, 370Z, GT-R, Frontier, Titan, NV200, Q50, Q70, Q60, QX30, QX50, QX60, QX70 and QX80 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The OEM blade sizes in inches are as follows: Driver Side 26" and Passenger Side 18". A few compatible replacement wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows: Rain-X RX30226 & Rain-X RX30218, Bosch ICON 26A & Bosch ICON 18A, Trico 25-260 & Trico 25-180, Anco 31-26 & Anco 31-18 and Michelin 14626 & Michelin 14618. The only tool needed to remove and change the wiper blades is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool. |

Raise Wiper Arm Off Window |
Pry Out Locking Tab |
The first step is
to lift the wiper arm off the windshield until it remains in the raised
position by itself. Then locate the rectangular black plastic locking tab in the center of the old wiper blade. To prevent from scratching the metal wiper arm, you may choose to use a plastic pry bar tool or cover the tip of your screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth. Insert the blade of your tool in between the bottom of the lock tab and the metal wiper arm. Gently pry open the lock tab and swing it up away from the wiper arm. |
|
Swing Open Lock Tab |
Push Down Wiper Blade |
Firmly push down on the wiper blade until the mounting bracket slides out of the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm. | |
Rotate Blade Perpendicular |
Pull Blade Off Metal Hook |
Rotate the old
wiper blade until it is perpendicular (90 degree angle) with the metal wiper
arm. Pull the old wiper blade off the hook at the end of the wiper arm. |

Towel - Protect Glass |
Line Up New Blade & Arm |
Place a towel on
the windshield to protect the glass from being chipped, shattered, scratched
or cracked just in case the metal wiper arm smacks down on to the window
while you are replacing the wiper blade. I recommend buying the Bosch ICON 26A and Bosch ICON 18A wiper blades since they have excellent reviews on Amazon from other Murano owners. Line up the new wiper blade with the wiper arm. The rubber blade should be pointing out away from the vehicle. |
|
Pass Hook Through Blade |
Pull Blade Up Into Hook |
Pass the metal hook
at the end of the wiper arm through the opening in the center of the new
wiper blade. Rotate the new wiper blade until it is parallel with the wiper arm. Firmly pull up on the new wiper blade until the plastic mounting bracket "clicks" securely into the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm. |
|
Pop In Retaining Clip |
Lower Arm To Windshield |
Swing down the
black plastic lock tab and snap it back into place. Double check that the new wiper blade is securely attached to the wiper arm. Gently lower the wiper arm down to the windshield. For the best wiper performance, I highly recommend cleaning off the windshield and applying a glass treatment product that will repel water such as Rain-X. Be sure to record the wiper blade change in your vehicle's service records. For more,
