This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the second generation 2015, 2016 and 2017 Chrysler 200
sedan in changing a burnt out cargo area light bulb in the trunk. Owners of other Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM or Fiat vehicles such as the 300, Pacifica, Town & Country, Avenger, Charger, Challenger, Journey, Dart, Durango, Magnum, Grand Caravan, Fiat 500, Fiat 124 Spider, Grand Cherokee, Renegade, Wrangler, Compass, Liberty, Patriot, ProMaster, 1500 and C/V Tradesman minivan may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A compatible replacement miniature wedge base light bulb is part number 2825 (also known as W5W) or an LED unit. The only tool needed to access and replace the light bulb is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool. |

The first two steps
are to open the trunk lid and then locate the cargo area light bulb housing. Use a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool to gently pull the light housing out of the roof of the trunk. Press the release tab on the electrical connector before sliding the power plug straight out of its socket. |

the two sides of the white plastic cover to release the retaining clips. You might notice a black or brown burn mark on the white plastic cover from the hot incandescent light bulb. |

|
||
Pull Out Old Light Bulb |
Push In New Light Bulb |
|
If the old light
bulb was recently turned on, be careful when you remove it. The bulb might
still be hot enough to burn your fingers. Push a new number 2825 miniature wedge base bulb in to the socket. You can also use a brighter LED bulb. |
||
Snap Closed Plastic Cover |
Push In Power Plug |
|
Swing the white
plastic cover closed and gently pop it back in to place. Push the power plug straight in to the socket on the end of the light housing. |
||
Re-Insert Light Housing |
Test New Trunk Light Bulb |
|
Re-insert the wires
in to the opening in the roof of the trunk. Then gently snap in the retaining clip on the other side of the light housing. If the new light bulb didn't turn on immediately when you plugged in the electrical connector, test it by turning on the headlights or press the "Unlock" button on the key fob to activate the interior lights.
