This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the third generation (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 & 2021) Mitsubishi Outlander SUV in changing the front windshield window wiper blades.

Owners of other Mitsubishi vehicles such as the Outlander Sport, Eclipse Cross, Mirage, Mirage G4, Lancer, ASX, Montero Sport, Pajero, Xpander, Strada and RVR may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The OEM wiper blade sizes in inches are as follows: Driver Side 26" and Passenger Side 18".

A few compatible replacement wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows: Bosch 26CA & Bosch 18CA, Motium 26" & 18", Aero Voyager 26" & 18" and Micheln

Please verify the correct wiper blade size for your vehicle by using the Amazon Part Finder website before you purchase new blades.

Note: Some wiper blade manufacturers recommend different sizes for certain models years or blade types. For example, some brands may specify a 24" driver side blade instead of a 26".

The correct wiper blade sizes may vary depending on the model year, trim level and your region of the world.

The only tool needed to remove and replace the wiper blades is a plastic pry bar tool or a flat head screwdriver.

The first step is to carefully lift the wiper arm off the windshield until it remains in the raised position by itself.

Locate the black plastic rectangular shaped lock tab near the middle of the old wiper blade.

Carefully pull the blade down to release the plastic mounting bracket from the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm.

Rotate the old blade until it is just about perpendicular (at a 90 degree angle) to the wiper arm.

Pull the old wiper blade straight off the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm.

Insert Metal Hook
Place a towel on the windshield to protect the glass from being chipped, shattered, cracked or scratched just in case the metal wiper arm smacks down on to the window while you are replacing the wiper blade.

Line up the new wiper blade with the end of the wiper arm.

The rubber blade should be pointing out away from the windshield and perpendicular (at a 90 degree angle) to the wiper arm.

Pass the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm through the opening in the center of the new blade.

Lower Arm Down
Swing the black plastic lock tab down towards the metal wiper arm.

Push on the lock tab until you hear or feel it "click" securely into place.

Double check that the new wiper blade is securely attached to the wiper arm.

Carefully lower the wiper blade back down to the windsheld.

For the best wiper performance, I recommend thoroughly cleaning off the windshield and applying a window treatment product that will repel water from the glass such as Rain-X.

Be sure to write down the blade change in your vehicle's service records.
