2019 Soul Back Window
Rear Wiper Blade
Lift Wiper Arm Off
This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the 2nd generation (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018 & 2019 model years) Kia Soul in changing the rear wiper blade on the back windshield window.

Owners of other Kia, Hyundai or Genesis vehicles such as the Niro, Sportage, Sedona, Telluride, Sorento, Rio, Forte, Optima, K900, Cadenza, Stinger, Tucson, Santa Fe, Kona, Palisade, Elantra, Sonata, Accent, Veloster, Ioniq, Nexo, Venue, G70, G80 and G90 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The OEM rear wiper blade size in inches is 11".

A few compatible replacement wiper blades with their part numbers include the following: Bosch H281, Michelin 9511, Trico 11-A, Anco AR-11A and ACDelco 8-211A.

No tools are needed to remove and replace the wiper blade.

The first step is to lift the wiper blade off the back window until the wiper arm remains in the raised position by itself.

Rotate Away Old Blade
Pop Bar Out of Socket
Detach Old Wiper Blade
Rotate the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm at a slight angle until you feel some resistance.

Continue rotating the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm until you feel the mounting bar pop out of the "C" shaped socket.

The old wiper blade should be almost perpendicular (at a 90 degree angle) to the wiper arm.

Detach the old wiper blade from the end of the wiper arm.

Plastic Mounting Bar
"C" Shaped Socket
New Wiper Blade
Once the old wiper blade is separated from the wiper arm, you'll be able to see the mounting bar in the center of the blade and the "C" shaped socket at the end of the arm.

I recommend buying the Bosch H281 rear wiper blade since it has excellent reviews on Amazon from other 2nd generation Kia Soul owners.

End of Wiper Arm
Line Up New Wiper Blade
Lower Blade Over Arm
Orientate the new wiper blade with the rubber blade facing away from the back windshield window.

Pass the end of the wiper arm into the opening in the center of the new blade.

The "C" shaped socket should be lined up with the mounting bar.

Rotate the new wiper blade towards the wiper arm.

Rotate Blade Towards Arm
Blade Parallel With Arm
Lower Blade To Glass
Continue rotating the new wiper blade towards the arm until you feel the mounting bar pop into the "C" shaped socket.

The new wiper blade should be parallel with the wiper arm.

Double check that the new blade is securely attached to the arm.

For the best wiper performance, I highly recommend applying a window treatment product that will repel water from the glass such as Rain-X.

Lower the wiper blade back down to the glass.

Be sure to write down the blade change in your vehicle's service records.
