This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the eleventh generation (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018) Toyota Corolla in changing the front windshield window wiper blades.

Owners of other Toyota, Lexus or Scion vehicles such as the Yaris, Matrix, Prius, Camry, RAV4, Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra, FJ Cruiser, Venza, Highlander, Avalon, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, IS 250, ES 350, GS 350, tC, xB, xD, iQ and FR-S may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The OEM wiper blade sizes in inches are as follows: Driver Side 26" and Passenger Side 16".

A few compatible replacement wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows: Bosch 26A & Bosch 16A, Rain-X 5079281-1 & Rain-X 5079274-1, Michelin 8526 & Michelin 8516, Valeo 900261B & Valeo 900161B, Anco 91-26 & Anco 91-16, Trico 25-260 & Trico 25-160, PIAA 95065 & PIAA 95040 and ACDelco 8-2261 & ACDelco 8-2161.

The only tool needed is a small flathead screwdriver.

Pull Blade Down Off Hook
The first step is to lift the wiper arm off the windshield until it remains in the raised position by itself.

Use a small flathead screwdriver to gently pry open the black plastic rectangular shaped locking tab at the center of the old wiper blade.

Swing open the lock tab to release the old wiper blade.

Pull the old wiper blade down to slide the mounting bracket out of the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm.

Towel - Protect Glass
Rotate the old wiper blade until is almost perpendicular with the metal wiper arm.

Pass the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm through the opening in the old wiper blade.

Place a towel or rag on the windshield to protect the glass from being cracked, shattered, scratched or chipped just in case the metal wiper arm smacks down on to the window while you are replacing the wiper blade.

Pull Up - In To Hook
I'd recommend buying the Bosch 26A and Bosch 16A wiper blades since they have great reviews on Amazon.

Line up the new wiper blade with the metal wiper arm.

The rubber blade should be pointing away from the windshield.

Pass the metal hook through the opening in the center of the new wiper blade.

Pull the plastic mounting bracket in the center of the new wiper up and in to the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm.

Lower Blade To Window
Swing the black plastic lock tab closed and pop it back in to place to secure the new wiper blade.

Gently lower the wiper arm down to the windshield.

For the best wiper performance, I'd recommend thoroughly cleaning off the windshield and applying a window treatment product such as Rain-X or Zaino Bros Glass Polish.
