Nissan Rogue

How to change the windshield window wiper
blades on a 2nd generation 2014 to 2018 Nissan Rogue SUV.
Turn Ignition To "On" |
Lift Up Stalk Twice Rapidly |
Wiper Arms Service Position |
This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the second generation 2014, 2015, 2016 and the revised
2017 or 2018 model year Nissan Rogue SUV in changing the front
windshield window wiper blades. Owners of other Nissan or Infiniti vehicles such as the Murano, Altima, Titan, Versa, Sentra, Maxima, Leaf, 370Z, GT-R, Juke, Pathfinder, Armada, Patrol, Skyline, Cube, X-Trail, Xterra, Qashqai, Rogue Sport, NV200, NV400, Teana, Q50, Q70, Q60, QX30, QX50, QX56, QX60, QX70 and QX80 may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The OEM wiper blades sizes in inches are as follows: Driver Side 26" and Passenger Side 17". A few compatible replacement wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows: Bosch 26A & Bosch 17A, Michelin 8026 & Michelin 8017, Aero 26" & 17", Rain-X 5079281-1 & Rain-X 5079283-1, Trico 25-260 & Trico 25-170 and Anco C-26-UB & Anco C-17-UB. No tools are needed to remove and install the wiper blades. |

Lift Wiper Arm Off Window |
Rotate Away Old Blade |
Black Plastic Release Tab |
To move the
windshield wiper arms to the "service position" follow these steps: 1. Turn
the ignition switch to the "ON" position but do not start the engine. 2.
Rapidly lift the wiper stalk up twice within half a second. 3. The
wiper arms should move up towards the top of the windshield. 4. Turn the
ignition switch to "OFF". Lift the wiper arm off the windshield until it remains in the raised position by itself. Rotate the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm at a slight angle. Locate the small black plastic tab near the center of the wiper blade. |
||
Push In Release Tab |
Pull Blade Down Off Hook |
Towel - Protect Glass |
Gently push in the
release tab and hold it. Slide the plastic mounting bracket on the old wiper blade down and out of the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm. Place a towel down on the windshield to protect the window from being cracked, scratched, chipped or shattered just in case the metal wiper arm smacks down on to the glass while you are changing the wiper blade. |

Line Up Bracket & Hook |
Pull Blade Up In To Hook |
Lower Wiper Arm |
I recommend buying
the
Bosch 26A and
Bosch 17A wiper blades
since they have excellent reviews on Amazon. Line up the plastic mounting bracket at the center of the new wiper blade with the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm. Slide the mounting bracket up and in to the metal hook. It should "click" securely in to place. Double check that the new wiper blade is secure before moving on to the next steps. |
||
Turn Ignition To "ON" |
Lift Wiper Stalk Up Once |
Wiper Blades Replaced |
Turn the ignition
switch to the "ON" position. Lift the wiper stalk up to the mist position
one time.
The wiper arms should lower down to their resting position at the bottom of the windshield. For the best wiper performance, I recommend thoroughly cleaning off the window and applying a glass treatment product that repels water such as Rain-X. For more,
