Mazda Mazda6 sedan in changing a burnt out courtesy step light bulb
located at the bottom of the plastic interior door panel. Owners of other Mazda vehicles such as the Mazda2, Mazda3, Mazda5, CX-3, CX-5, CX-7, CX-9, and the MX-5 Miata may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement light bulb part number is 2825 (also known as W5W). If you want to have brighter step lights, choose an LED unit. The only tool needed to access and replace the light bulbs is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool. |

Pull Out Old Light Bulb |
To prevent from scratching the plastic surfaces, either cover the tip of your screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth or use a thin plastic pry bar tool. Insert the blade of the screwdriver in to the small notch at the bottom edge of the lens cover. Gently pry out the lens cover and set it aside in a safe place. Be careful when you remove the old light bulb. If it was recently turned on, it might still be hot enough to burn your fingers. Pull the old light bulb straight out of the socket. |
