Impala Headlight Bulbs Replacement Guide
How to change a low / high beam, front
turn signal or side marker light bulb in a 2014 to 2018 GM Chevy Impala.

This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the tenth generation (2014, 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018) GM
Chevy Impala in changing a burnt out combination dual filament low
and high beam, front turn signal or front side marker light bulbs in
the headlight assemblies. Owners of other General Motors vehicles such as the Malibu, Cruze, Camaro, Sonic, Spark, Volt, Corvette, Trax, Equinox, Traverse, Tahoe, Suburban, SS Sedan, Bolt, Colorado, Silverado, Buick Verano, Regal, LaCrosse, Cascada, Encore, Envision, Enclave, Canyon, Sierra 1500, Terrain, Acadia, Yukon, Savana, ATS, CTS, XTS, CT6, XT5, SRX and Escalade may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement light bulb part numbers are as follows: Low / High Beam # 9012, Front Turn Signal # 7444NA and Side Marker # 194. No tools are needed to access and replace any of the light bulbs in either the driver or passenger side headlight housings. |

The first two steps
are to open the hood and then move to the side of the car with the burnt out
headlight bulb. Look behind the headlight housing and locate the round black plastic cover used to keep out dust and rain water. Rotate the dust cap 1/4 turn counterclockwise and set it aside in a safe place. Rotate the base of the old low / high beam bulb 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. |

![]() Disconnect Power Plug |
Gently pull back
the retaining clip on the electrical connector before sliding it straight
off the base of the old light bulb. Try to avoid touching the glass part of the new halogen bulb with your fingers or anything greasy in the engine bay. If you do get the new bulb dirty, clean it with a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol. |

Push the power plug straight on to the base of the new number 9012 low / high beam bulb until it clicks securely in to place. | ||

Insert the new #
9012 light bulb in to the housing
and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in place. Replace the dust cap by twisting it on 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction. (If you plan on replacing the front side marker light bulb, leave the headlight dust cap off for better access to the socket.) The front turn signal light bulb socket is located near the inner corner of the headlight assembly. Rotate the grey and black bulb socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. |

Pull the old light
bulb straight out of the socket. Push in a new amber colored number 7444NA light bulb. |

Re-insert the bulb
socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in
place. The front side marker bulb socket is located near the outer edge of the housing. Reach in and rotate the small socket 1/4 turn counterclockwise before pulling it straight out of the housing. |

Pull the old light
bulb straight out of the socket. Push in a new number 194 bulb. If necessary, you can also use any other miniature wedge base bulbs such as the # 158, 168, W5W, 2825 or a compatible LED unit. |

Re-insert the bulb
socket in to the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn clockwise to secure it in
place. If you haven't already done so, replace the low / high beam dust cover by turning it 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction. For easier access to the light bulbs in the driver side headlight assembly, pull out the windshield washer fluid filler tube. |

light bulbs, turn on the headlights, activate the hazard signals and flash
