This
automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners
of the XV50 7th generation (2012, 2013, 2014, 2015 & 2016)
Toyota Camry in changing a burnt out overhead dome light bulb. Owners of other Toyota, Scion or Lexus vehicles such as the Yaris, Corolla, Matrix, RAV4, Prius, Tacoma, Tundra, Sienna, FJ Cruiser, Venza, Highlander, Avalon, 4Runner, Land Runner, Sequoia, IS 250, ES 350, GS 350, tC, xB, xD, iQ and FR-S may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement "festoon" style dome light bulb is part number DE3175 available from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Eiko and Putco. If you would like to have a brighter dome light, install a compatible DE3175 LED bulb. The only tool needed to replace the bulb is a small flat head screwdriver. |

To avoid scratching
the plastic surfaces, you may choose to wrap the tip of the screwdriver with
a thin micro fiber cloth. Insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in to one of the two notches on the front edge of the lens cover. Gently pry out the lens cover and set it aside in a safe place. You may need to re-insert the screwdriver at the other notch. Do not use excessive force. To remove the old dome light bulb, press the metal tab on the left (driver side) of the socket and pull the bulb out. I'd recommend buying the Sylvania DE3175 LL long life light bulbs since they will last for many years. You could also install a brighter DE3175 LED bulb. |
