This
automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners
of the 10th generation (2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, & 2013) Toyota Corolla
in replacing the windshield window wiper blades. Owners of other Toyota, Lexus or Scion vehicles such as the Yaris, Matrix, Prius, Camry, RAV4, Sienna, Tacoma, Tundra, FJ Cruiser, Venza, Highlander, Avalon, Sequoia, Land Cruiser, Allion, Premio, Auris, IS 250, ES 350, GS 350, tC, xB, xD, iQ and FR-S may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. Replacement windshield wiper blades are size 26" for the driver side and 16 inch for the passenger side. A few compatible replacement wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows: Bosch 26A & Bosch 16A, Michelin 8526 & Michelin 8516, Valeo 900261B & Valeo 900161B and Rain-X 5079281-1 & Rain-X 5079274-1, No tools are required to replace the windshield wiper blades. A small flat head screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool may be useful for prying up the lock tab on the old wiper blade. |

The first step is
to raise the metal wiper arm off the windshield until it rests in the
perpendicular position. Then place a folded up towel on the windshield to protect it just in case the metal wiper arm slaps down while you are replacing the blade. Locate the rectangular black plastic locking tab at the top of the wiper blade's mounting bracket. Pry up the lock tab from the center of the bracket with your fingernail, a key or a small flathead screwdriver. Raise the lock tab until it is perpendicular with the wiper blade. |

Rotate the old
wiper blade at an angle to the metal wiper arm. Push the wiper blade mounting bracket down and off the metal hook. Pull the metal hook through the hole in the old wiper blade. I'd recommend buying the Bosch 26A and Bosch 16A wiper blades since they have the best reviews on Amazon. |

Rotate the mounting
bracket on the new wiper blade at an angle. Line up the black plastic mounting bracket with the metal hook on the wiper arm. Slide the new wiper blade up on to the metal arm until the plastic mounting bracket is fully seated. |

Close the lock tab
on the mounting bracket until it clicks securely in to place. Double check that the new wiper blade is securely attached to the metal arm. Gently lower the wiper arm down on to the windshield. For the best wiper performance, I recommend thoroughly cleaning off the windshield and also applying a window treatment product that will repel water such as Rain-X. Be sure to record the wiper blade change in your vehicle's service records. |
