Grasp Old Wiper Blade |
This automotive
maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the 4th
generation (2018, 2019, 2020 and probably also the 2021, 2022 and 2023 model
years) Ford Expedition SUV in changing the rear wiper blade on the back
windshield window. Owners of other Ford or Lincoln vehicles such as the Explorer, F-150, Escape, EcoSport, Transit, F-350, F-250, Edge, Flex, Ranger, Fiesta, Focus, Fusion, Mustang, Bronco, Super Duty, Navigator, Continental, MKZ, MKX, MKC, MKT, Aviator, Corsair and Nautilus may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The OEM (original equipment manufacturer) rear wiper blade size in inches is 11" and the genuine Ford part number is Motorcraft WW1107 (also known as part # JL1Z17528A or JL1Z-17528-A). Two compatible replacement aftermarket wiper blades with their part numbers include the following: Bosch A281H (3397008045) and Trico 11-G. No tools are needed to remove and replace the rear wiper blade. The first step is to raise the wiper arm off the back window. Grasp the old wiper blade near the center where it is attached to the plastic wiper cover. Firmly but carefully pull the center of the old wiper blade away from the wiper arm. You should feel the old wiper blade "pop" off the wiper arm. Make sure the spring loaded wiper arm doesn't smack down on to the glass. |

New Wiper Blade |
Line Up With Mount |
Place a towel on
the back windshield to protect the glass from being scratched, chipped or
shattered just in case the wiper arm smacks down on to the window while you
are replacing the blade. Line up the "C" shaped socket in the center of the new wiper blade with the mounting bar on the wiper arm. |

Snap Mount Into Bracket |
New Wiper Secured |
Lower Blade To Window |
Firmly push the
wiper blade towards the arm.
You should feel or hear the "C" shaped socket on the wiper blade "snap" on to the mounting bar. Double check that the new wiper blade is securely attached. Gently lower the wiper arm down to the back window. For the best wiper performance, thoroughly clean off the back windshield and apply a glass treatment product that will help repel water such as Rain-X. Be sure to write down the blade change in your vehicle's service records. Please
