Today I took a
trip over to check out the 14th annual "Weston Art Festival 2006"
sponsored by Lexus. The Weston Art Festival has been held in several different venues in this prestigious South Florida city, but for the past few years the event planning company, Howard Alan Events, has chosen the Weston Town Center open air mall. I saw about 150 art display booths with a variety of artwork including steel sculptures, oil paintings, metal statues, fine jewelry, blown glass pieces, exotic furniture, clay and ceramic creations. One of the best aspects of the Weston Art Festival, besides the free parking, variety of shops, and restaurants is the ability to meet the actual artists themselves. |

Once you perused
the millions of dollars of artwork at the Weston Art Festival, you could
visit the Kahlua promotional area where in exchange for a swipe of your
driver's license, you would receive a "Kahlua Brownie" and a shot of their "Kahlua
Frozen Latte" adult beverage.
Other refreshment or dining options included the Starbucks Coffe trailer, Jamba Juice, Brasero's Steakhouse, Japan Inn, Swig Bartini (expensive but fun bar/restaurant ), and Cheeburger Cheeburger. The Weston Town Center is located at 1675 Market Street Weston, FL 33326 and more information can be had by calling (954) 349-8123. Be sure to visit this attractive and unique open air mall whenever you get a chance. If you'd like to see more pictures of art
work, take a look at my images from the
Chihuly At Fairchild blown glass art exhibit which featured work
from Dale Chihuly integrated into the Fairchild Tropical Botanic Gardens
located in Coral Gables, FL. |
