This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the third generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016
and 2017) Mitsubishi Outlander Sport in changing the windshield
window wiper blades. Owners of other Mitsubishi vehicles such as the Lancer, Outlander, Mirage, ASX, RVR, Galant, I-MIEV, Montero, Eclipse, 3000GT, Endeavor, Raider, Diamante, Attrage, Carisma, Colt, Grandis, Magna, Pajero and the Space Star may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The OEM wiper blade sizes in inches are as follows: Driver Side 24" and Passenger Side 21". A few compatible replacement wiper blades with their part numbers are as follows: Bosch 24A & Bosch 21A, Rain-X RX30224 & Rain-X RX30221, Anco 31-24 & Anco 31-21, Michelin 8024 & Michelin 8021, Valeo 900241B & Valeo 900211B, Trico 25-240 & Trico 25-210, PIAA 95060 & PIAA 95053 and ACDelco 8-4424 & ACDelco 8-4421. The only tool needed to remove and replace the wiper blades is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool. |

|
Plastic Lock Tab |
Gently Pry Open Lock Tab |
The first step is
to lift the wiper arm off the windshield until it remains in the raised
position by itself. Use a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool to gently lift open the bottom edge of the rectangular shaped lock tab near the center of the wiper blade. |
|
Pull Wiper Blade Down |
Remove Metal Hook |
Swing the lock tab
up to release the old wiper blade. Gently pull the old wiper blade down to remove it from the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm. Rotate the old wiper blade until it is almost parallel to the wiper arm. Pass the metal hook at the end of the wiper arm through the hole in the center of the old wiper blade. |
|
Towel - Protect Glass |
Line Up New Blade & Hook |
Place a towel on
the windshield to protect the glass from being scratched, chipped, cracked
or shattered just in case the metal wiper arm smacks down on to the window
while you are changing the wiper blade. Line up the new wiper blade with the wiper arm. The rubber blade should be facing up and away from the windshield. |
|
|
|
Pass Hook Through Opening |
Rotate Blade Parallel |
Pass the hook at
the end of the wiper arm through the opening in the center of the new wiper
blade. Rotate the wiper blade until it is just about parallel with the wiper arm. |
|
Pull Blade Up In To Hook |
Snap In Locking Tab |
Firmly pull the new
wiper blade up until it clicks securely in to the hook at the end of the
wiper arm. Swing the locking tab down and gently snap it back in to place. Double check that the new wiper blade is securely attached to the wiper arm. |
|
Lower Wiper To Window |
Wiper Blades Replaced |
Gently lower the
wiper blade and arm down on to the windshield. For the best wiper performance, thoroughly clean off the windshield and apply a window treatment product that will repel water such as Rain-X. For more,
