This automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist owners of the first generation (2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019 & 2020) Infiniti QX60 luxury SUV in changing a burnt out front turn signal light bulb in the headlight housings. (The low beam, high beam, parking and side marker lights are all LED bulbs that should last the life time of the vehicle.)

Owners of other Infiniti and Nissan vehicles such as the JX35, Q50, Q60, QX50, QX80, Pathfinder, Murano, Rogue, Armada, Kicks, Frontier, Titan, NV, NV200, 370Z, GT-R, Leaf, Maxima, Altima, Sentra and Versa might also find these DIY instructions to be helpful.

The OEM (original equipment manufacturer) front turn signal light bulb part number is 7444NA (also known as 12V28/8W or WY21W for European models).

If you would like to have brighter front turn signal lights, install some 7444NA LED bulbs.

The only tool needed to access and replace the bulb is a small flat head screwdriver or a pop rivet removal tool.

The first two steps are to open the hood and move to the side of the SUV with the burnt out turn signal bulb.

The turn signal light bulb is situated near the inner corner of the headlight assembly.

Locate the black rubber / plastic cover on the rear of the headlight housing.

There is a single black plastic pop rivet fastener that holds the cover in place.

Use the small flat head screwdriver to gently pry out the small round button in the center of the fastener.

Once the center pin is in the up and unlocked position, pry out the base of the fastener.

Set the pop rivet fastener aside in a safe place.

Gently bend up the black plastic / rubber cover to access the rear of the headlight housing.

Bulb Socket Removed
Rotate the base of the gray plastic front turn signal bulb socket 1/4 turn in the counterclockwise direction.

Then pull the socket straight out of the housing.

If the old light bulb was recently turned on, be careful when you remove it. The old bulb might still be hot enough to burn your fingers.

Carefully pull the old light bulb straight out of the socket.

If you have trouble removing an old stubborn or stuck bulb due to corrosion (rust) or debris, try gently wiggling the old bulb back and forth while pulling it out.

Try to avoid using excessive pressure on the old bulb to prevent from having it pop between your fingers.

The OEM (original equipment manufacturer) light bulb in this 2020 QX60 was marked as part number HT7444NA 12V28/8W X98. If you live in Europe, your QX60 is probably equipped with the European specification WY21W bulb.

Push a new number 7444NA wedge base light bulb straight into the socket.

If you would like to have brighter front turn signal lights, install some compatible replacement 7444NA LED bulbs.

Clean off any oil from your fingers or dirt on the new bulb by wiping it with a paper towel and some rubbing alcohol.

Any oil or debris on the new bulb might lead to hot spots which could reduce the life of the bulb.

Re-insert the bulb socket into the housing and rotate it 1/4 turn in the clockwise direction to secure it into place.

The low beam, high beam, parking and side marker lights are all comprised of LED bulbs that should last the life time of the vehicle. If any of these bulbs are not working, check for a blown fuse or a faulty relay.

To test the new light bulbs, activate the hazard signals.

Tip - If you installed LED bulbs and they don't work, try removing them from their sockets, rotating them 180 degrees and pushing them back into their sockets. Some LED bulbs are polarized and will only work when the "+" positive and "-" negative electrical contacts are in the correct orientation.

Lower the rubberized plastic cover down over the rear of the headlight assembly.
