This automotive
"how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners of the 2006, 2007,
2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 Ford Fusion in replacing a burnt out license
plate light bulb. Owners of other Ford, Lincoln or Mercury vehicles such as the Fiesta, Mustang, Focus, Taurus, Flex, Edge, Expedition, Escape, Ranger, F-150, MKZ, MKS, MKX, MKT, Navigator, Milan, Grand Marquis, Mariner, and Mountaineer may also find this instruction guide to be helpful. A replacement festoon or "fuse" style license plate light bulb for the Ford Fusion is part # 6418 from a variety of manufacturers such as Eiko, Sylvania, GP Thunder and CuteQueen. If you would like to have brighter license plate lights, install some compatible 6418 LED bulbs. The only tool needed to replace the license plate light bulbs is a standard Phillips head screwdriver. A small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool can also be useful for prying out the housing. |

Remove # 6418 Bulb |
Use the standard
sized Phillips head screwdriver to loosen and remove the two screws that
hold the license plate light bulb housing in the trunk lid. If it doesn't
drop out, use a small flathead screwdriver to pry it out. Push the metal power contacts outwards to release the old # 6418 bulb from the housing. Tip - If you are installing LED bulbs and they don't work at first, try flipping them around in the socket. |

Testing New Light Bulb |
Insert a new # 6418
bulb into the socket and replace the housing into the trunk lid. Tighten the
two Phillips head screws to secure it in place. Test the new license plate
bulb(s) by turning on the headlights. For more,
