"Dig The Beach" is a series of amateur volleyball tournaments that take
place all over the state of Florida. These pictures and the
video clip are from the tournament held at South Beach Park in Fort
Lauderdale, FL on July 14th 2007. Some of the stops on the Dig The Beach volleyball tour include Daytona Beach, Cocoa Beach, Siesta Key, Delray Beach, Clearwater Beach, Singer Island, Fort Myers, Bradenton Beach, Miami Beach and Grand Bahama Island. The after party for this volleyball tournament was held at the famous Lulu's Bait Shack bar & grill located on Atlantic Boulevard and it was sponsored by Corona Extra with 100 free beers for the players. By winning at the Dig The Beach Series, players can qualify for the National Beach Open (Juniors) to be held at Long Beach California or the US Open (Adults) in Huntington Beach, CA. |

An old neighbor of mine at the University of Florida called me to say that he was competing in this volleyball tournament. It was a blazingly hot day so I only stayed to watch him and his teammate compete in one match, which they won. Luckily, Zephyrhills Water was sponsoring the event and provided the players (and friends) with free bottled water. The finals were held the next day on Sunday July 15th 2007. | ||
