This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the second generation 2015, 2016 and 2017 Chrysler 200
sedan in taking off the plastic interior door panels in order to
upgrade the OEM speakers, add soundproofing material, fix a faulty
electrical switch or replace a broken power window motor. Owners of other Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM or Fiat vehicles such as the 300, Pacifica, Town & Country, Avenger, Charger, Challenger, Journey, Dart, Durango, Magnum, Grand Caravan, Fiat 500, Fiat 124 Spider, Grand Cherokee, Renegade, Wrangler, Compass, Liberty, Patriot, ProMaster, 1500 and C/V Tradesman minivan may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The tools needed to complete this procedure include a small flathead screwdriver, a plastic pry bar tool, a 10mm socket, a 7mm socket, a short extension bar and a 1/4" drive ratchet. To remove the OEM door speakers, you'll need a Torx T-30 star bit screwdriver. |

Door Pull Handle Well |
The first two steps
are to lower the power window all the way down and open the door. Use a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool to gently remove the plastic trim piece located behind the door opener handle. Set the trim piece aside in a safe place, such as on the floor mat. Move to the door pull handle in the center of the armrest. Gently pry out the rubber screw cover at the bottom of the well. Set the rubber cover aside in a safe place. |

Silver Bolt Removed |
Remove Armrest Screw |
Loosen the silver
metal bolt behind the door opener handle by turning it counterclockwise with
the 10mm socket and a 1/4" drive ratchet.
You may need to attach a short extension bar to your ratchet in order to reach the bolt. Set the 10mm bolt aside with its corresponding plastic trim cover. Remove the black metal screw at the bottom of the well in the door pull handle by turning it counterclockwise with a 7mm socket and a 1/4" drive ratchet. Set the screw aside with the rubber cover. |

Pull Out Pop Rivets |
Insert a large
flathead screwdriver or a large plastic pry bar tool in between the bottom

OEM Speaker Screws |
Set the plastic
door panel aside in a safe place. The OEM door speaker is located at the bottom inner corner of the door frame. Remove the four screws that secure the OEM speaker to the door frame by turning them counterclockwise with a Torx T30 star bit screwdriver. The OEM door speaker can be replaced with aftermarket car speakers in the following sizes: 5 1/4" (5.25") and 6 1/2" (6.5"). I highly recommend applying some Dynamat sound deadener to the metal door frame around the new speaker to help stop any rattles or vibrations when you really crank up the volume. |
