This
automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners
of the 4th generation (2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008 & 2009) Toyota 4Runner SUV in replacing a burnt out
overhead dome light bulb in the passenger compartment. Owners of other related Toyota or Lexus vehicles such as the Hilux, Tacoma, Land Cruiser, T100, SW4, FJ Cruiser, Fortuner and Lexus GX may also find these instructions to be helpful. Replacement bulbs for the two dome lights are part # DE3175 from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, PIAA, GE, and ACDelco. You can also use a brighter DE3175 LED bulb. The only tool needed to replace the dome light bulbs is a small flathead screwdriver. Insert the blade of the screwdriver into the notches at the rear of the dome light cover and gently pry until the cover pops off. |

If you have trouble
removing the lens cover, try prying at several locations at the front, back
and sides of the cover until it is loose enough to be pulled off.
To help prevent scratches, wrap the blade of the screwdriver in a soft thin micro fiber cloth. |

To remove the old #
DE3175 dome light bulb from its socket, push the metal power contact tab
