This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the third generation (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016
and 2017) Mitsubishi Outlander Sport in changing a burnt out cargo
area light bulb. Owners of other Mitsubishi vehicles such as the Lancer, Outlander, Mirage, ASX, RVR, Galant, I-MIEV, Montero, Eclipse, 3000GT, Endeavor, Raider, Diamante, Attrage, Carisma, Colt, Grandis, Magna, Pajero and the Space Star may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The compatible replacement miniature wedge base light bulb part number is 2825 (or W5W). You can also use a brighter 2825 LED bulb. The only tool needed to access and replace the light bulb is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool. |

Remove Light Housing |
Disconnect Power Plug |
Pull Out Old Light Bulb |
To avoid
scratching the plastic surfaces, you can either wrap the tip of your
screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth or use a plastic
pry bar tool. Insert the blade of the screwdriver in to the small notch on the rear edge of the light housing and gently pry it out of the cargo area panel. Press in the release tab on the white plastic electrical connector before sliding it straight out of its socket. If the old bulb was recently turned on, be careful when you remove it since it might still be hot enough to burn your fingers. Pull the old light bulb straight out of the socket. |

Re-Insert Wires |
Gently Pop In Light Housing |
Test New Cargo Light |
Re-insert the wires
on the front edge of the housing back in to the cargo area panel. Then gently snap in the retaining clip on the rear edge. If the new light bulb didn't turn on as soon as you replaced the power plug, press the "Unlock" button on the key fob to re-activate the interior lights. For more, check out all of my
