This
automotive "how-to" guide was specifically written to assist owners
of the 4th generation "JK" 2007, 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011
and 2012 Jeep Wrangler in replacing a
burnt out headlight, front turn signal or front side marker bulb. Owners of previous generation Wrangler vehicles such as the YJ (1987-1995), TJ (1997-2006) or other Jeep vehicles such as the Compass, Patriot, Liberty and Grand Cherokee may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. Replacement light bulbs from Sylvania and other manufacturers are as follows with their respective part numbers: High & Low Beam Headlight Bulb # H13 (or 9008), Front Turn Signal Bulb # 3157, and Front Side Marker Bulb # 168. The only tools needed to access the headlight bulbs is a 10mm socket with a 1/4" drive ratchet. |

Remove Engine Air Filter |
|
To access the
Driver Side Headlight Bulb, you'll need to remove the horn by loosening
the single 10mm bolt. To access the Passenger Side Headlight Bulb, you'll need to remove both the engine air box and the power steering fluid reservoir. The pictures on this page show the process for replacing a burnt out passenger side low/high beam headlight bulb. First flip open the four metal spring clips that hold the top half of the air box to the bottom half. Lift the top half of the air box out of the way and remove the engine air filter. Set the filter aside in a safe place. |
