This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the 4th generation "WK2" (2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
and
2016) Jeep Grand Cherokee in changing a burnt out vanity mirror
light bulb in the sun visors. Owners of other Chrysler, Jeep, Dodge and RAM vehicles with similar vanity mirror light housings such as the Town & Country, 300, 200, Patriot, Compass, Cherokee, Avenger, Challenger, Charger, Durango, Journey, Grand Caravan, Dart and C/V Tradesman may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. The OEM miniature "fuse" style light bulb in this Grand Cherokee was part number TS-14V1CP1Y. Other compatible bulbs include the # 6614F, TS-14V1CP, ACDelco 13502343, Eiko 40842 and the Putco 230003 LED. The only tool needed to replace the bulbs is a small flathead screwdriver used to pry out the translucent lens cover. |

Pry Out Metal Cap Old Bulb |
Pull Out Old Bulb |
To help prevent
from scratching the plastic surfaces, you may choose to cover the tip of the
screwdriver with a thin micro fiber cloth. Insert the blade of the small flathead screwdriver in between the translucent plastic lens cover and the vanity mirror bulb housing. Gently pry out the lens cover and set it aside in a safe place. Do not use excessive force to pry out the lens cover. Either pull out the old bulb with your thumb and forefinger or carefully pry it out at one of the metal end caps with the screwdriver. Do not apply pressure to the glass part of the old bulb with the screwdriver or it may shatter. If available, wear safety glasses to protect your eyes. |
