The 2011
Gasparilla Parade of the Pirates was held on January 29th from 2 PM
to 5:30 PM along historic Bayshore Boulevard and in Downtown Tampa,
FL. Over 90 parade floats, 14 marching bands, 50 different "krewes" (carnival organizations) and hundreds of "pirates" in colorful costumes winded along the 3.8 mile parade route tossing out beads to the 1000's of spectators. The parade began at the intersection of Bay to Bay Boulevard and Bayshore and ended at the intersection of Cass St. and Ashley Drive. All of the Gasparilla events are free to the public, although reserved bleacher seating is available for purchase along the parade route and an admission fee is required at the Tampa Convention Center to view the Gasparilla Invasion Brunch. |
