This
automotive maintenance tutorial was specifically written to assist
owners of the second generation (2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015
& 2016) GM Buick LaCrosse sedan in changing a burnt out courtesy
step light bulb located in the bottom of the plastic interior door
panels. Owners of other General Motors vehicles such as the Chevrolet Impala, Monte Carlo, Malibu, Spark, Sonic, Cruze, Volt, SS, Camaro, Caprice, Corvette, Trax, Equinox, Traverse, Tahoe, Suburban, Colorado, Silverado, Buick Verano, Regal, Cascada, Encore, Enclave, Envision, GMC Canyon, Sierra, Terrain, Acadia, Yukon, Savana, Cadillac CT6, ATS-V, ATS, ELR, CTS, XTS, XT5, SRX, Escalade and Holden Commodore may also find these DIY instructions to be helpful. A replacement miniature wedge base bulb is part number 2825 from various manufacturers such as Sylvania, GE, Eiko and PIAA. You can also use a brighter LED unit. The only tool needed to access and replace the bulbs is a small flathead screwdriver or a plastic pry bar tool. |

Pull Out Light Housing |
Push Out Old Light Bulb |
|
Insert the tip of a
small flathead screwdriver or a plastic
pry bar tool in to the notch on the rear edge of the light housing. Gently pry out the light housing and remove it from the underside of the door panel. Be careful when you remove the old light bulb. If it was recently turned on, it might still be hot enough to burn your fingers. Carefully push the old light bulb out of the base of the socket with the screwdriver or pry bar tool. |
